SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Hugh Robert Lindgren of Champaign, who
4passed away on February 5, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Hugh Lindgren was born on January 5, 1933, in
6Peoria; his parents were Hugh and Olive Lindgren; he married
7Eileen Krause in 1956; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Hugh Lindgren graduated from high school at the
9Spalding Institute in Peoria; he subsequently graduated from
10Bradley University in Peoria; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Hugh Lindgren enlisted in the United States Navy
12in 1951; he served on the destroyer USS Marshall for four years
13during the Korean Conflict; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Hugh Lindgren retired from AT&T in 1989 after 33
15years of dedicated service; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Hugh Lindgren was a member of St. Matthew Catholic
17Church, The Knights of Columbus, The Optimist Club, The
18Illinois Bell Pioneers, The University of Illinois I-Fund, and
19the Bradley University Alumni Association; and

1    WHEREAS, Hugh Lindgren enjoyed playing softball, watching
2his grandchildren play sports, Tae Kwon Do, golfing, and
3watching the Illini, Chicago Cubs, and Chicago Bears; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Hugh Lindgren was preceded in death by his parents
5and his sisters, June Petri and Kay Buzbee; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Hugh Lindgren is survived by his wife; his
7brother, Bill; his children, Beth Musgrove, Mary Marcott
8(Tony), Amy Menius (Joe), and John Lindgren (Kim); and his
9three nieces and several great-nieces and nephews; therefore,
10be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
13his family and friends, the passing of Hugh Robert Lindgren;
14and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Hugh Lindgren as an expression of
17our sympathy.
