SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Rosemary White Mitchell, who passed away
4on June 30, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rosemary Mitchell was born on April 10, 1919, in
6Sesser; she married Amos H. Mitchell on January 20, 1945, in
7Sesser; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Rosemary Mitchell graduated from Goode-Barren
9Township High School; she was the oldest living member of First
10United Methodist Church in Sesser, having attended there all of
11her life; she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at
12the age of 14 and was a living witness to all who knew her; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Rosemary Mitchell enjoyed sewing and playing the
14piano and organ at church and at home; she was also well known
15as an outstanding cook and spent many hours in the kitchen with
16her grandchildren, teaching them the art of cooking; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Rosemary Mitchell was preceded in death by her
18parents, Isaac Demetrius White and Anna Lucille Shepard White
19Harrison; her sisters, Marjorie A. Dame and Norma Lee Dame; and
20her brothers, Allen Emery White and Donald Eugene White; and

1    WHEREAS, Rosemary Mitchell is survived by her loving
2husband of 67 years, Amos H. Mitchell; her sons, Ned (Aisha
3Goessman) Mitchell and Randy Lowell (Renee Ciganovich)
4Mitchell; her grandchildren, Justin Jon Mitchell (Kelly),
5Jonna June L. Mitchell Rolla (Billy), Carrigan Aleta Mitchell,
6Ty Matthew Mitchell, and Alexa Marie Mitchell; her
7great-grandchildren, John Charles Eubanks Jr., Johnel Maria
8Eubanks, Christian Mitchell Rolla, and Cobin Dane Rolla; and
9her many nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12her family and friends, the passing of Rosemary White Mitchell;
13and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Rosemary Mitchell as an expression
16of our sympathy.
