SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Rosemary White Mitchell, who passed away on June 30, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Rosemary Mitchell was born on April 10, 1919, in Sesser; she married Amos H. Mitchell on January 20, 1945, in Sesser; and

WHEREAS, Rosemary Mitchell graduated from Goode-Barren Township High School; she was the oldest living member of First United Methodist Church in Sesser, having attended there all of her life; she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at the age of 14 and was a living witness to all who knew her; and

WHEREAS, Rosemary Mitchell enjoyed sewing and playing the piano and organ at church and at home; she was also well known as an outstanding cook and spent many hours in the kitchen with her grandchildren, teaching them the art of cooking; and

WHEREAS, Rosemary Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Demetrius White and Anna Lucille Shepard White Harrison; her sisters, Marjorie A. Dame and Norma Lee Dame; and her brothers, Allen Emery White and Donald Eugene White; and

WHEREAS, Rosemary Mitchell is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Amos H. Mitchell; her sons, Ned (Aisha Goessman) Mitchell and Randy Lowell (Renee Ciganovich) Mitchell; her grandchildren, Justin Jon Mitchell (Kelly), Jonna June L. Mitchell Rolla (Billy), Carrigan Aleta Mitchell, Ty Matthew Mitchell, and Alexa Marie Mitchell; her great-grandchildren, John Charles Eubanks Jr., Johnel Maria Eubanks, Christian Mitchell Rolla, and Cobin Dane Rolla; and her many nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Rosemary White Mitchell; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rosemary Mitchell as an expression of our sympathy.
