SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply
3saddened to learn of the death of Jean Anne Bates, who passed
4away on October 21, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jean Anne Bates graduated from Tolono Unity High
6School and went to St. Francis Nursing School in Peoria; she
7married William Wolf in Pestoum in 1965, lived in Tolono, and
8later moved to El Paso; she began her career in 1978, at Shell
9Chemical Products, which later became DuPont Agricultural
10Products; she graduated from Texas A&M fire school, following
11her father's footsteps and becoming a fire chief, and finished
12her career as a senior human resources leader at DuPont; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jean Anne Bates was a very active philanthropist,
14volunteering for the United Way, McLean County Compact, WYSE
15Competition, Day of the Dozier, McLean County Extension Board,
16and also served on the Community Cancer Center Board; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jean Anne Bates was busy in her retirement taking
18care of her grandchildren and traveling the world working for
19Mecum Auto Auctions; she loved cars almost as much as people;
20and
 
21    WHEREAS, Jean Ann Bates was preceded in death by her

1parents, Milt and Anne Bates, Louie and Jo Reis, and her niece,
2Jennifer Bates; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Jean Anne Bates is survived by her children, Kerry
4(Beth Pelz) Wolf, Kristy (Dan) Moore, Jodi (David) Hettinger,
5and Jessica (Kevin) Ryan; her grandchildren, Gina, Justin,
6Logan, and Allison; her brothers, Charles Bates and Dennis
7(Linda) Bates; her sister, Mary Strohl; and many nieces and
8nephews; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Jean Anne Bates, and we extend our sincere condolences to her
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Jean Anne Bates as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
