SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jeanette Wright of Blue Island, who passed away on February 20, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Jeanette Wright was born in Wetumpka, Alabama on August 8, 1922 to Doc Dixon and Irene Johnson; she was followed by younger siblings, Bernice and Charles Harry; she was educated in Pollard and Brewton, Alabama and married Paul Wright, Sr. on June 29, 1940 in Wetumpka, Alabama; and

WHEREAS, Jeanette Wright worked at various jobs to support her family; she returned to school later in life and became a licensed practical nurse; she worked for the Veterans Hospital, Lakeside in Chicago, retiring with almost 20 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Jeanette Wright had a passion for reading and had a keen interest in local, national, and international politics; she was a member of Christ Temple Church in Robbins, and in 1994, she fulfilled a life-long dream by traveling to the Holy Land; and

WHEREAS, Jeanette Wright was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 67 years, Paul Wright, Sr.; and her son, Paul, Jr.; and

WHEREAS, Jeanette Wright is survived by her daughters, Irene Wilkins, Margaret Wright, and Barbara Garrison; her sons, Gregory (JoAnn) Wright and Douglas (Patricia) Wright; her niece, Dorothy Jean Wells; her granddaughters, Tressa, Kimberly, Kylana, Paula, Nioke, Nina, Jacqueline, and Lynnette; her grandsons, David, Terrence, and Patrick; her great-grandchildren, DeAnthony, Lanesha, Mariyah, Jasmine, Jordan, Myrik, Niaya, Mykah, Bailey, Essence, and Jenesis; her brother-in-law, Joe Willie Morris; her sisters-in-law, Florence Ziegler, Lillie Wright, and Rosa Glover-Armstrong; and her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and members of the Christ Temple Church Family; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jeanette Wright, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jeanette Wright as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
