SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jeanette Wright of Blue Island, who
4passed away on February 20, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jeanette Wright was born in Wetumpka, Alabama on
6August 8, 1922 to Doc Dixon and Irene Johnson; she was followed
7by younger siblings, Bernice and Charles Harry; she was
8educated in Pollard and Brewton, Alabama and married Paul
9Wright, Sr. on June 29, 1940 in Wetumpka, Alabama; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jeanette Wright worked at various jobs to support
11her family; she returned to school later in life and became a
12licensed practical nurse; she worked for the Veterans Hospital,
13Lakeside in Chicago, retiring with almost 20 years of service;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Jeanette Wright had a passion for reading and had
16a keen interest in local, national, and international politics;
17she was a member of Christ Temple Church in Robbins, and in
181994, she fulfilled a life-long dream by traveling to the Holy
19Land; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Jeanette Wright was preceded in death by her
21parents; her husband of 67 years, Paul Wright, Sr.; and her

1son, Paul, Jr.; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Jeanette Wright is survived by her daughters,
3Irene Wilkins, Margaret Wright, and Barbara Garrison; her sons,
4Gregory (JoAnn) Wright and Douglas (Patricia) Wright; her
5niece, Dorothy Jean Wells; her granddaughters, Tressa,
6Kimberly, Kylana, Paula, Nioke, Nina, Jacqueline, and
7Lynnette; her grandsons, David, Terrence, and Patrick; her
8great-grandchildren, DeAnthony, Lanesha, Mariyah, Jasmine,
9Jordan, Myrik, Niaya, Mykah, Bailey, Essence, and Jenesis; her
10brother-in-law, Joe Willie Morris; her sisters-in-law,
11Florence Ziegler, Lillie Wright, and Rosa Glover-Armstrong;
12and her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and members
13of the Christ Temple Church Family; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Jeanette Wright, and extend our sincere condolences to her
17family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Jeanette Wright as an expression of
21our deepest sympathy.
