HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Lawrance Tyrone "Snake" Howard, Jr. of Peoria, who passed away on August 17, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Lawrance Howard, Jr. was born on January 18, 1971 in Peoria; his parents were Lawrance, Sr., and Freida Howard; and

WHEREAS, Lawrance Howard, Jr. was a 1989 graduate of Peoria Central High School, where his basketball team was a runner-up for the IHSA State championship with a record of 32 wins and one loss; he later pursued his basketball career at Lincoln Junior College and Toledo University; he was a 2004 inductee into the Peoria Central High School Hall of Fame; and

WHEREAS, Lawrance Howard, Jr. was a respected sales consultant at Royal Publishing for 11 years; he was also a former manager at Big Johns North BBQ; and

WHEREAS, Lawrance Howard, Jr. enjoyed basketball, spending time with his children, and history; and

WHEREAS, Lawrance Howard, Jr. is preceded in death by his parents and his fiancee, Yolanda N. Johnson; and

WHEREAS, Lawrance Howard, Jr. is survived by his children, Jasmine Howard, Kendall Yarbrough, Jakobe Howard, Jaylin Howard, and Jarryn Howard; his sister, Khadijah Uqdah; his brothers, Sean (Tammy) Timmons, Karstin Howard, Terrance "Terry" Howard, Jerrance (Jessica) Howard, and Timothy Moton; his grandchildren, Desirae', Azira, Ja'riyah, and John "BJ"; his fiancee, Rachel M. Fuller; his stepfather, Oliver P. Moody; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Lawrance Tyrone "Snake" Howard, Jr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lawrance Howard, Jr. as an expression of our sympathy.
