HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jim Duffy of Woodridge, who passed away on March 24, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Jim Duffy was born on March 15, 1945; and

WHEREAS, Jim Duffy was elected to the Woodridge Park District Board of Park Commissioners in 1987 and recently celebrated his 30th anniversary as a commissioner; and

WHEREAS, Jim Duffy has been a dedicated and outstanding advocate for parks and recreation; his personal mission was to ensure every Woodridge resident had a park within walking distance of their home; and

WHEREAS, Jim Duffy's insights, passion, and leadership as a park commissioner, friend, and personal mentor will be sorely missed; and

WHEREAS, Jim Duffy was the beloved husband of over 51 years of Judi (Bonkoske); the loving father of Jamie (Holly), Jay (Sheri), and Josh (Melissa); the proud grandfather of Colin, Tyler, Trevor, Vanessa, and Elina; the cherished son of Ruth (Kloke) and the late Owen P. Duffy; the dearest brother of Ruth Ann (Dennis) Dunton and Dan (Kathy) Duffy; the fond brother-in-law of Gerry (Mary) Bonkoske; and the fond uncle and friend of many; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jim Duffy, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jim Duffy as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
