SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Mack Young Jr. of Wood River, who
4passed away on January 6, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mack Young was born to Mack and Lillian "Margie"
6(Doty) Young Sr. in Benton, Missouri on March 8, 1942; he
7married Shelia Ann Aldrich in Jackson, Missouri on June 10,
81960; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Mack Young was employed as a car hauler at
10Cassens and Sons Transport in Edwardsville for over 30 years;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Mack Young was a member of the First Baptist
13Church in Maryville, the Jaycees, and Teamsters Local 604; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Mack Young was active with the Boy Scouts, where
15he held many different offices; he coached Pee Wee Football
16for seven years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Mack Young loved to race stock cars at the
18Godfrey and Tri City Speedways; he enjoyed hunting, fishing,
19and watching his children and grandchildren play in various
20Oiler sports; and

1    WHEREAS, Mack Young was preceded in death by his parents;
2his son, Daniel Young; and his brothers, Dennis and James; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Mack Young is survived by his wife, Shelia; his
4son, Michael L. (Denise) Young; his daughters, Debra (William
5"Jeff") Campbell and Diane (Chlorus) Cox; his grandchildren,
6Crystal (Craig) Wilson, Michael (Donia) Young, Alexis Young,
7Alexander Young, Joshua (Chrissie) Young, Zakary Young, Alyssa
8(Griffin) Horne, Mara (Nathan) Cook, Brandon Cox, and
9Mackenzie Cox; his great-grandchildren, Westin, Willa Claire,
10Haylee, Hunter, Donavin, Tyler, Logan, Mason, and Karsen; his
11sister, Cindy Nance; his brother, David (Lois) Young; his many
12nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends;
13therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Mack Young Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his
17family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Mack Young as an expression of our
21deepest sympathy.
