SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Carl Krahl, who passed away on September 22, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Carl Krahl was born to Henry A. and Bernice M. Lemon Krahl in Moline on December 22, 1947; he graduated from Sherrard High School; he served as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve; he married Rebecca Keating on June 3, 1967; and

WHEREAS, Carl Krahl owned and operated Casco Design Management, which started as a construction company and then later focused on trucking; and

WHEREAS, Carl Krahl enjoyed boating, traveling, riding his Harley, and eating breakfast every morning at the Welcome Inn with his friends; and

WHEREAS, Carl Krahl will be remembered for his adventurous spirit and his dedication to family; and

WHEREAS, Carl Krahl was preceded in death by his parents; his infant twins, Shane and Shawn; his brother, Rod Krahl; and his son-in-law, Joe Zimmerman; and

WHEREAS, Carl Krahl is survived by his children, John Krahl, Julie (Dave) Pelloux, and Jenny (Donovan) DiLorenzo; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his siblings, Peggy Edwards, Ron Krahl, and Doug (Tresa) Krahl; and a special friend; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Carl Krahl and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Carl Krahl as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
