| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Terry Lee Van Nattan, who passed away | 4 | | on October 1, 2023; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Terry Lee Van Nattan was born to Arvil Nelson and | 6 | | Irene Edna (Hilst) Van Nattan in North Pekin on June 2, 1945; | 7 | | he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; he married | 8 | | Linda Tassart and they had one son, Rick; he later married | 9 | | Shirley Ann Quick in Pekin on April 16, 1971, and she preceded | 10 | | him in death on July 10, 1993; he later married Dotti Louise | 11 | | Sea in Clearwater, Florida on February 10, 2004, and she | 12 | | preceded him in death on February 27, 2013; and | 13 | | WHEREAS, Terry Van Nattan was a heavy equipment operator | 14 | | for Operating Engineers Local 649, working for R.A. Cullinan | 15 | | in Tremont for 35 years before retiring in 2005; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Terry Van Nattan enjoyed vacationing in Florida | 17 | | every winter at Madeira Beach and visiting Jamaica, the Virgin | 18 | | Islands, Paradise Island in the Bahamas, and the Riviera Maya | 19 | | in Mexico; he enjoyed playing pool and cards with his friends | 20 | | and riding his motorcycle "Harley D"; he had a green thumb and | 21 | | liked doing yard work, gardening, and keeping his home | 22 | | beautiful; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Terry Van Nattan was preceded in death by his | 2 | | parents; his sister, Janet Maile; his half-brothers, Harold | 3 | | Hilst and Virgil Van Nattan; and his half-sister, Leota "Pat" | 4 | | Underwood; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Terry Van Nattan is survived by his son, Rick | 6 | | (Frankie) Van Nattan; his stepdaughters, Cindy Reis and Susan | 7 | | Benassi; his grandchildren, Kendra (Ryan) Wheeler, Joe | 8 | | (Christi) Patterson, Jamie Cates, Jordann Wright, Taylor | 9 | | Wright, Jarod Benassi, Brandi Van Nattan, and Ricky Van | 10 | | Nattan; his great-grandchild, Avery Wheeler; and his | 11 | | companion, Mary Lou Isbell; therefore, be it | 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 14 | | Terry Lee Van Nattan and extend our sincere condolences to his | 15 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 16 | | further | 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 18 | | presented to the family of Terry Van Nattan as an expression of | 19 | | our deepest sympathy. |
