 1        AN ACT concerning higher education.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The University of Illinois Act is amended  by
 5    adding Section 25 as follows:

 6        (110 ILCS 305/25 new)
 7        Sec.  25.  Sale of directory information prohibited.  The
 8    University  may  not  sell  a  student's  name,  address,  or
 9    telephone number to  a  business  organization  or  financial
10    institution that issues credit or debit cards.

11        Section  10.  The Southern Illinois University Management
12    Act is amended by adding Section 15 as follows:

13        (110 ILCS 520/15 new)
14        Sec. 15.  Sale of directory information prohibited.   The
15    University  may  not  sell  a  student's  name,  address,  or
16    telephone  number  to  a  business  organization or financial
17    institution that issues credit or debit cards.

18        Section 15.  The Chicago State University Law is  amended
19    by adding Section 5-120 as follows:

20        (110 ILCS 660/5-120 new)
21        Sec.  5-120.  Sale  of  directory information prohibited.
22    The University may not sell a  student's  name,  address,  or
23    telephone  number  to  a  business  organization or financial
24    institution that issues credit or debit cards.

25        Section  20.  The  Eastern  Illinois  University  Law  is
26    amended by adding Section 10-120 as follows:

 2        Sec. 10-120.  Sale of directory  information  prohibited.
 3    The  University  may  not  sell a student's name, address, or
 4    telephone number to  a  business  organization  or  financial
 5    institution that issues credit or debit cards.

 6        Section   25.  The  Governors  State  University  Law  is
 7    amended by adding Section 15-120 as follows:

 8        (110 ILCS 670/15-120 new)
 9        Sec. 15-120.  Sale of directory  information  prohibited.
10    The  University  may  not  sell a student's name, address, or
11    telephone number to  a  business  organization  or  financial
12    institution that issues credit or debit cards.

13        Section 30.  The Illinois State University Law is amended
14    by adding Section 20-125 as follows:

15        (110 ILCS 675/20-125 new)
16        Sec.  20-125.  Sale  of directory information prohibited.
17    The University may not sell a  student's  name,  address,  or
18    telephone  number  to  a  business  organization or financial
19    institution that issues credit or debit cards.

20        Section 35.  The Northeastern Illinois University Law  is
21    amended by adding Section 25-120 as follows:

22        (110 ILCS 680/25-120 new)
23        Sec.  25-120.  Sale  of directory information prohibited.
24    The University may not sell a  student's  name,  address,  or
25    telephone  number  to  a  business  organization or financial
26    institution that issues credit or debit cards.

27        Section 40.  The  Northern  Illinois  University  Law  is

 3        Sec.  30-130.  Sale  of directory information prohibited.
 4    The University may not sell a  student's  name,  address,  or
 5    telephone  number  to  a  business  organization or financial
 6    institution that issues credit or debit cards.

 7        Section  45.  The  Western  Illinois  University  Law  is
 8    amended by adding Section 35-125 as follows:

 9        (110 ILCS 690/35-125 new)
10        Sec. 35-125.  Sale of directory  information  prohibited.
11    The  University  may  not  sell a student's name, address, or
12    telephone number to  a  business  organization  or  financial
13    institution that issues credit or debit cards.

14        Section  50.  The Public Community College Act is amended
15    by adding Section 3-60 as follows:

16        (110 ILCS 805/3-60 new)
17        Sec. 3-60.  Sale of directory information prohibited.   A
18    community  college may not sell a student's name, address, or
19    telephone number to  a  business  organization  or  financial
20    institution that issues credit or debit cards.

21        Section  99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect upon
22    becoming law.
