    Amends the University Credit and Retail Sales Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning enforcing the Act.

1     AN ACT concerning education.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The University Credit and Retail Sales Act is
5 amended by changing Section 2 as follows:
 
6     (110 ILCS 115/2)  (from Ch. 144, par. 253)
7     Sec. 2. Enforcement; violations. Whenever the the Attorney
8 General of this State has reason to believe that any person or
9 retail store operated by a State institution of higher learning
10 or operated on property held or leased for the use of the
11 institution is using, has used, or is about to use any method,
12 act or practice in violation of this Act and that proceedings
13 would be in the public interest, he may bring an action in the
14 name of the State against any person or retail store operated
15 by a State institution of higher learning or operated on
16 property held or leased for the use of the institution to
17 restrain and prevent any violation of this Act. In the
18 enforcement of this Act, the Attorney General may accept an
19 assurance of discontinuance of any act or practice deemed in
20 violation of this Act from any person or retail store operated
21 by a State institution of higher learning or operated on
22 property held or leased for the use of the institution engaging
23 in, or that has engaged in, that act or practice. Failure to

1 perform the terms of any such assurance constitutes prima facie
2 proof of a violation of this Act.
