| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 |
| Representatives wish to congratulate Representative Patricia | 4 |
| Reid Lindner on her distinguished service to her legislative | 5 |
| district and the people of the State of Illinois; and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Representative Lindner has been a member of the | 7 |
| Illinois House since 1993 and has served this body with honor | 8 |
| and distinction; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Representative Lindner was born on November 29, | 10 |
| 1939 in Aurora, a graduate of East Aurora High School's Class | 11 |
| of 1957; and
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Representative Lindner earned a Bachelor of | 13 |
| Science Degree in speech from Northwestern University in 1961, | 14 |
| a Master's Degree in political science from the University of | 15 |
| Colorado in 1966, and a Juris Doctor Degree from Northern | 16 |
| Illinois University in 1980; and
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Representative Lindner was inspired to pursue a | 18 |
| life of public service by her father, the late Frank R. Reid, | 19 |
| Jr., and her mother, the late Charlotte Thompson Reid, who | 20 |
| served the people of Illinois in the United States Congress | 21 |
| from 1963 to 1971, and her grandfather, Frank R. Reid Sr., who |

| was also a member of Congress from 1923 to 1935; and
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Patricia Reid married George Lindner in 1962 and | 3 |
| through more than 46 years of marriage have celebrated the | 4 |
| births of four children, sons Mike, Jon, and Brooks, and | 5 |
| daughter Courtney, as well as seven grandchildren, Lua, | 6 |
| Kingston, Marley, Pitcher, Elsa, Rye, and Charlotte; and
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Representative Lindner was admitted to the Bar in | 8 |
| 1980 and served as an Assistant Public Defender in Kane County | 9 |
| from 1981 to 1984, as a court appointed attorney in Kane County | 10 |
| from 1984 to 1986, and as a lawyer in private practice from | 11 |
| 1986 to 1992; and
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Representative Lindner was first elected to the | 13 |
| Illinois House in 1992 and has subsequently been re-elected to | 14 |
| seven consecutive terms, representing portions of Kane, | 15 |
| Kendall, and LaSalle counties since 2002; and
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Representative Lindner has served with | 17 |
| distinction on the Gaming, Labor, Environmental Health, | 18 |
| Adoption Reform, Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness, | 19 |
| and Computer Technology Committees during the 95th General | 20 |
| Assembly, as well as being the Republican Spokesperson on the | 21 |
| Judiciary II - Criminal Law and Juvenile Justice Reform | 22 |
| Committees; and

| WHEREAS, Representative Lindner has also served her caucus | 2 |
| ably as an Assistant Republican Leader since 2002; and
| 3 |
| WHEREAS, Representative Lindner has made innumerable | 4 |
| contributions to the public good through her extensive civic | 5 |
| and volunteer involvement and service on the Board of Directors | 6 |
| of the Aurora Foundation, Board of Directors of the Gary | 7 |
| Wheaton Bank of Fox Valley, the Board of Directors YWCA, Chair | 8 |
| of the Personnel Committee YWCA, Chair of the Community | 9 |
| Division for Capital Campaign YWCA, Legal Aid Volunteer YWCA, | 10 |
| Co-Chair of the YWCA Women of Distinction Luncheon 1991, Member | 11 |
| Women in Management, Board of Directors Family Counseling, | 12 |
| Board of Directors Women in Management, Board of Directors | 13 |
| YMCA, Member of the American Association of University Women, | 14 |
| Member of the Women's Development Counsel at Waubonsee | 15 |
| Community College, Member of the League of Women Voters, Member | 16 |
| of the Child Welfare Society, Member of the Paramount Art | 17 |
| Center Endowment Committee, and Member of the Illinois | 18 |
| Governor's Task Force on the Family; and | 19 |
| WHEREAS, Representative Lindner is a member of the Council | 20 |
| of Women Legislators, the Kane County Bar Association, and the | 21 |
| Illinois State Bar Association; and
| 22 |
| WHEREAS, Representative Lindner has been honored by scores |

| of organizations over the years in recognition of her | 2 |
| outstanding service; therefore, be it
| 3 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 4 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 5 |
| wish Representative Lindner all the best in her future | 6 |
| endeavors and congratulate her on a job well done in the | 7 |
| General Assembly; and be it further
| 8 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 9 |
| presented to Representative Lindner, her husband, George, and | 10 |
| their entire family as an expression of our esteem and respect | 11 |
| for our colleague and friend.
