HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of the members of the Illinois House of Representatives that Judith Maggio has retired as a member of the Douglas County Board; and

WHEREAS, Judith Maggio was the first Certified County Official in the State of Illinois; she is known as someone who does everything with her heart and soul, and she made serving on the Douglas County Board her passion; and

WHEREAS, Early in her career Judith Maggio served as a negotiator for the union while working for Magnavox; and

WHEREAS, Judith Maggio is a cancer survivor who loves life; she is committed to her family and has spent the last six years traveling across the country with her husband, Richard; and

WHEREAS, She is a member of Home Extension and the trip coordinator; she is an avid gardener, decorator, and floral designer; she is active in the Republican Party as a polling judge and a campaigner; and

WHEREAS, Judith Maggio will be enjoying her retirement along with husband, Richard, and the pride and joy of her life, her four grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Judith Maggio on her retirement and wish her continued success in her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Judith Maggio as a symbol of our respect.
