(20 ILCS 1705/11.3) Sec. 11.3. Transition services; children with disabilities. A child with a disability who receives residential and educational services directly from or paid by the Department shall be eligible to receive transition services in accordance with Article 14 of the School Code from the age of 14.5 through age 21, inclusive, notwithstanding the child's residential services arrangement. Beginning on the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 96th General Assembly, the Department shall review its policies and regulations that create obstacles to the provision of these services and within the constraint of existing federal or State law change or modify the policies and regulations to support the provision of transition services in accordance with Article 14 of the School Code. For the purposes of this Section, "child with a disability" means a child with a disability as defined by the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004.
