Sec. 3.
It shall be the duty of the officer to whom such warrant of
commitment is delivered to convey such person so sentenced or committed to
the said house of correction, and there deliver such person to the keeper
or other proper officer of said house of correction, whose duty it shall be
to receive such person so sentenced or committed and to safely keep and
employ such person for the term mentioned in the warrant of commitment,
according to the laws of said house of correction; and the officer thus
conveying and so delivering the person so sentenced or committed shall be
allowed such fees, as compensation therefor, as are or shall be prescribed
or allowed by law.
