Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.

Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

    (25 ILCS 130/8A-30)
    Sec. 8A-30. Acquisition of land; contract review. The Architect of the Capitol, upon the approval of the Board of the Office of the Architect of the Capitol, may acquire land in Springfield, Illinois, within the area bounded by Washington, Third, Cook, and Walnut Streets and the land and State buildings and facilities within the area bounded by Madison, Klein, Mason, and Rutledge Streets for the purpose of providing space for the operation and expansion of the legislative complex or other State facilities. The Architect of the Capitol must review and either approve or disapprove all contracts for the repair, rehabilitation, construction, or alteration of all State buildings within the bounded area, except the Supreme Court Building and the Fourth District Appellate Court Building.
