Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

30 ILCS 425/2

    Sec. 2. Authorization for Bonds. The State of Illinois is authorized to issue, sell and provide for the retirement of limited obligation bonds, notes and other evidences of indebtedness of the State of Illinois in the total principal amount of $10,019,681,100 herein called "Bonds". Such amount of authorized Bonds shall be exclusive of any refunding Bonds issued pursuant to Section 15 of this Act and exclusive of any Bonds issued pursuant to this Section which are redeemed, purchased, advance refunded, or defeased in accordance with paragraph (f) of Section 4 of this Act. Bonds shall be issued for the categories and specific purposes expressed in Section 4 of this Act.
