Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

    (220 ILCS 10/14) (from Ch. 111 2/3, par. 914)
    Sec. 14. Board officers.
    (1) Election. The interim board of directors and the board of directors, at the first regular meeting of each at which a quorum is present, shall elect by a majority vote of the directors present and voting a president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. The board may elect such other officers as it deems necessary.
    (2) Term of office.
        (a) Board officers shall begin serving immediately
    
upon their election and their term of office shall be one year. After his or her term of office has expired, a board officer shall continue to serve until his or her successor is elected and certified.
        (b) If a board office is vacant, the board shall
    
elect a successor to serve out the term of the office.
    (3) Powers and duties. Board officers shall exercise powers and perform duties as prescribed by this Act or as delegated to them by the board.
