    Sec. 26. Powers and duties of the Board. Subject to the provisions of this Act, the Board shall exercise the following functions, powers, and duties:
        (1) The Board shall hold at least 2 regular
    
meetings each year.
        (2) The Board shall annually elect a Chairperson
    
and a Vice Chairperson, both of whom shall be Illinois licensed perfusionists.
        (3) The Board, upon request by the Department, may
    
make an evaluation to approve a perfusionist program, examination, or certification.
        (4) The Board shall assist the Department in
    
conducting oral interviews, disciplinary conferences, informal conferences, and formal evidentiary hearings.
    The Department may at any time seek the expert advice and knowledge of the Board on any matter related to the enforcement of this Act.
