225 ILCS 330/8

    Sec. 8. Powers and duties of the Board. Subject to the provisions of this Act, the Board shall exercise the following functions, powers, and duties:
        (a) The Board shall hold at least 3 regular meetings
    
each year.
        (b) The Board shall annually elect a chairperson and
    
a vice chairperson who shall be Illinois licensed professional land surveyors.
        (c) The Board, upon request by the Department, may
    
make a curriculum evaluation to approve a land surveying degree or a related science degree and submit to the Secretary a written recommendation of acceptability of a curriculum.
        (d) (Blank).
        (e) The Department may at any time seek the expert
    
advice and knowledge of the Board on any matter relating to the enforcement of this Act.
        (f) The Board may appoint a subcommittee to serve as
    
a Complaint Committee to recommend the disposition of case files according to procedures established by rule.
        (g) The Board shall assist the Department in
    
conducting oral interviews, disciplinary conferences, informal conferences, and formal evidentiary hearings.
        (h) The Board shall review applicant qualifications
    
to sit for the examination for licensure and shall make recommendations to the Department except for those applicant qualifications that the Board designates as routinely acceptable.
