Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process.
Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as
Public
Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the
Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes,
statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect.
If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has
not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already
been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes
made to the current law.
(410 ILCS 210/1) (from Ch. 111, par. 4501)
Sec. 1. Consent by minor. The consent to the performance of a health care service
by a physician licensed to practice medicine in all its branches, a chiropractic physician, a licensed optometrist, a licensed advanced practice registered nurse, or a licensed physician assistant executed by a
married person who is a minor, by a parent who is a minor, by a pregnant
woman who is a minor, or by
any person 18 years of age or older, is not voidable because of such
minority, and, for such purpose, a married person who is a minor, a parent
who is a minor, a
pregnant woman who is a minor, or any person 18 years of age or older, is
deemed to have the same legal capacity to act and has the same powers and
obligations as has a person of legal age.
