Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process.
Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as
Public
Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the
Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes,
statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect.
If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has
not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already
been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes
made to the current law.
(510 ILCS 68/105-95) Sec. 105-95. Financial value of herptiles. (a) For purposes of this Act, replacement cost shall be used to determine the financial value of the herptile species protected by this Act, but in no case shall the minimum value of any species protected under this Act be less than the following: (1) for processed turtle parts, $8 for each pound or |
| fraction of a pound; for each non-processed turtle, $15 per whole turtle;

(2) for frogs, toads, salamanders, lizards, and
|
| snakes, $5 per herptile, in whole or in part, unless specified as a special use herptile;
|
|
(3) for any special use herptile, the value shall be

| $250 per special use herptile;
|
|
(4) for any endangered or threatened herptile, the
|
| value shall be $150 per endangered or threatened.
