Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process.
Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as
Public
Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the
Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes,
statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect.
If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has
not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already
been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes
made to the current law.
(625 ILCS 70/20) (Text of Section before amendment by P.A. 103-1047 ) Sec. 20. DUI Prevention and Education Fund; transfer of funds. (a) The DUI Prevention and Education Fund is created as a special fund in the State treasury. Subject to appropriation, all moneys in the DUI Prevention and Education Fund shall be distributed by the Department of Transportation with guidance from the DUI Prevention and Education Commission as grants for crash victim programs and materials, impaired driving prevention programs, law enforcement support, and other DUI-related programs. (b) As soon as practical after the effective date of this Act, the State Comptroller shall direct and the State Treasurer shall transfer any remaining balance in excess of $30,000 from the Roadside Memorial Fund to the DUI Prevention and Education Fund. Starting in 2021 and continuing every year
after, the cash balance in the Roadside Memorial Fund on June
