Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as
Public
Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the
Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes,
statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect.
If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has
not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already
been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes
made to the current law.
(820 ILCS 175/47) Sec. 47. Location of a day and temporary labor service agency. (a) In a municipality with more than 1,000,000 inhabitants, a day or temporary labor service agency may not operate or transact business at a location within 1,000 feet of: (i) a school building or a building in which a Boys and Girls Club is located; or (ii) real property comprising a school or a Boys and Girls Club. (b) This Section does not apply to a day and temporary labor service agency that: (1) registered with the Department of Labor prior to |

(2) received an occupancy permit for a location

| described in subsection (a) of this Section from the municipality prior to January 1, 2008.

(c) As used in this Section, "school" means a public or private pre-school,
elementary school, or secondary school.
(d) A home rule unit may not
regulate the location of a day and temporary labor service agency in a manner inconsistent with the regulation by the State of
the location of a day and temporary labor service agency under this Section. This
subsection (d) is a limitation under subsection (i) of
Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois
Constitution on the concurrent exercise by home rule
units of powers and functions exercised by the
State.
