Illinois Compiled Statutes - Full Text

Information maintained by the Legislative Reference Bureau

Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.

Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

30 ILCS 120/17

    (30 ILCS 120/17) (from Ch. 85, par. 667)
    Sec. 17. Fair and expositions.
    (a) Any county fair eligible to participate in appropriations made from the Agricultural Premium Fund may elect instead in any odd numbered year to participate in the appropriation from the Fair and Exposition Fund. The Department must be notified of such election by January 1 of the year of participation in that fund. Any such election shall be binding for 4 calendar years. No county fair may choose to participate for the same calendar year in appropriations under both this Fund and the Agricultural Premium Fund.
    (b) Notwithstanding the provisions of this Section, during State fiscal year 2026 only and regardless of prior elections under this Section, the Department may make payments to county fairs from the Fair and Exposition Fund for amounts otherwise payable under this Act from the Agricultural Premium Fund, subject to the same conditions as if the moneys were paid from the Agricultural Premium Fund, and receipt of such payments from the Fair and Exposition Fund shall not affect the county fair's prior election under this Section.
