Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS)

Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.

Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

210 ILCS 50/3.255

    (210 ILCS 50/3.255)
Sec. 3.255. Public Health and Emergency Medical Plan. The Department shall develop and implement a Public Health and Emergency Medical Plan to assist emergency medical services personnel and health care facilities in working together in a collaborative way and to provide support in situations where local medical resources are overwhelmed, including but not limited to public health emergencies, as that term is defined in Section 4 of the Illinois Emergency Management Agency Act. As part of the plan, the Department may designate lead hospitals in each Emergency Medical Services region established under this Act and may foster the creation and coordination of volunteer medical response teams that can be deployed to assist when a locality's capacity is overwhelmed. In developing a Public Health and Emergency Medical Plan, the Department shall collaborate with the entities listed in Sections 2310-50.5 and 2310-620 of the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois.
