Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS)
Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.
(210 ILCS 125/5) (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 1205) Sec. 5. Permit for construction or major alteration. No swimming facility shall be constructed or altered in a major manner until plans, specifications, and other information relative to such swimming facility and appurtenant facilities as may be requested on forms provided by the Department are submitted to and reviewed by the Department and found to comply with minimum sanitary and safety requirements and design criteria, and until a permit for the construction or major alteration is issued by the Department. Permits are valid for a period of 2 years from date of issue. They may be reissued upon application to the Department and payment of the permit fee. The fee to be paid by an applicant for a permit for construction, major alteration, or installation of each swimming facility shall be in accordance with Sections 8.1, 8.2, and 8.3 of this Act and shall accompany such application.
