Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS)
Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.
(225 ILCS 140/6) Sec. 6. Recognition of volunteer health practitioners licensed in other states. (a) While an emergency declaration is in effect, a volunteer health practitioner, registered with a registration system that complies with Section 5 and licensed and in good standing in the state upon which the practitioner's registration is based, may practice in this State to the extent authorized by this Act as if the practitioner were licensed in this State. If a state licensed health or mental health professional with a valid license from another state or territory is operating under the auspices of the American Red Cross, the professional may practice in this State to the extent authorized by this Act as if the practitioner were licensed in this State, regardless of whether an emergency declaration is in effect. (b) A volunteer health practitioner qualified under subsection (a) is not entitled to the protections of this Act if any license of the practitioner is suspended, revoked, or subject to an agency order limiting or restricting practice privileges, or has been voluntarily terminated under threat of sanction.(Source: P.A. 104-306, eff. 1-1-26.) |
