Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS)
Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.
(225 ILCS 410/1-10) (from Ch. 111, par. 1701-10) (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2031) Sec. 1-10. Display. Every holder of a license under this Act shall display it in a prominent place in the salon or shop where clients enter or wait to receive services and in the same prominent location, every license holder shall also display a sign provided by the Department that includes information about this Act and rules, sanitary requirements, and contact information for the Department's complaint intake unit. Whenever a license holder provides barber, cosmetology, esthetics, hair braiding, or nail technology services to clients outside of or away from the person's salon or shop, the license holder shall provide any person so requesting proof that the person has a valid license issued by the Department. Every registered shop or salon shall display its certificate of registration in a prominent place at the location of the shop or salon where clients enter or wait to receive services and, in the same prominent location, every license holder shall also display a sign provided by the Department that includes information about this Act and rules, sanitary requirements, and contact information for the Department's complaint intake unit. Each shop or salon where barber, cosmetology, esthetics, hair braiding, or nail technology services are provided shall have a certificate of registration and shall display the Department's sign as required by this Section.(Source: P.A. 104-153, eff. 1-1-26.) |
