Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS)
Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.
(410 ILCS 320/2) (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 4802) (Text of Section before amendment by P.A. 104-71) Sec. 2. In reporting every birth or still birth, physicians and
others required to make such reports shall state on the birth
certificate or still birth certificate, as the case may be, whether a
blood test for syphilis has been made upon a specimen of blood taken
from the woman who bore the child for which a birth or still birth
certificate is filed, together with the date when the blood specimen was
taken and the name of the laboratory making the test. In no event shall
the birth or still birth certificate state the result of the test.(Source: Laws 1939, p. 708.) (Text of Section after amendment by P.A. 104-71) Sec. 2.
