Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS)
Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.
(415 ILCS 15/6) (from Ch. 85, par. 5956)

of weight. The determination of recycling rate shall not include: discarded
motor vehicles, wastes used for clean fill or erosion control, or
commercial, institutional or industrial machinery or equipment.
(4) may provide for the construction and operation of one or more
recycling centers by a unit of local government, or for contracting with
other public or private entities for the operation of recycling centers.
(5) may require residents of the county to separate recyclable materials
at the time of disposal or trash pick-up.

provided that such establishments annually provide written documentation to
the county of the total number of tons of material recycled.
(7) shall provide for separate collection and composting of leaves.
(8) shall include public education and notification programs to foster
understanding of and encourage compliance with the recycling program.
