Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS)

Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.

Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

    (625 ILCS 70/5)
    Sec. 5. The DUI Prevention and Education Commission.
    (a) The DUI Prevention and Education Commission is created, consisting of the following members:
        (1) one member from the Office of the Secretary of
    
State, appointed by the Secretary of State;
        (2) one member representing law enforcement,
    
appointed by the Department of State Police;
        (3) one member from the Division of Substance Use
    
Prevention and Recovery of the Department of Human Services, appointed by the Secretary of the Department of Human Services;
        (4) one member from the Bureau of Safety Programs and
    
Engineering of the Department of Transportation, appointed by the Secretary of the Department of Transportation; and
        (5) the Director of the Office of the State's
    
Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor, or his or her designee.
    (b) The members of the Commission shall be appointed within 60 days after the effective date of this Act.
    (c) The members of the Commission shall receive no compensation for serving as members of the Commission.
    (d) The Department of Transportation shall provide administrative support to the Commission.
