Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that, not
later than 6 months after the effective date of this
amendatory Act of 1997, the Child and Spouse Support Unit of
the Illinois Department of Public Aid shall establish a child
support hotline to be used by the public to report anyone who
is in arrears on a child support obligation in Illinois who
is doing business in or with the State of Illinois. Provides
that the Department shall adopt rules regarding the staffing,
operation, administration, and promotion of the hotline.

1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Public Aid Code by adding
2 Section 10-3.4.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
6 adding Section 10-3.4 as follows:
7 (305 ILCS 5/10-3.4 new)
8 Sec. 10-3.4. Child support hotline. Not later than 6
9 months after the effective date of this amendatory Act of
10 1997, the Child and Spouse Support Unit shall establish a
11 child support hotline which may be used by the public to
12 report any person who is:
13 (i) in arrears on a child support obligation; and
14 (ii) doing business in the State of Illinois or
15 with the State of Illinois.
16 The Illinois Department shall adopt appropriate rules
17 regarding the staffing, operation, administration, and
18 promotion of the hotline.
