Amends the Solid Waste Disposal District Act and the
Environmental Protection Act to expand the definition of
landscape waste to include discarded, natural Christmas
trees. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning landscape waste, amending named Acts.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Solid Waste Disposal District Act is
5 amended by changing Section 3.04 as follows:
6 (70 ILCS 3105/3.04) (from Ch. 85, par. 1653.04)
7 Sec. 3.04. Landscape waste defined. "Landscape waste"
8 means all accumulations of grass or shrubbery cuttings,
9 leaves, tree limbs, and other materials accumulated as the
10 result of the care of lawns, shrubbery, vines, and trees.
11 "Landscape waste" also includes discarded, natural Christmas
12 trees.

14 Section 10. The Environmental Protection Act is amended
15 by changing Section 3.20 as follows:
16 (415 ILCS 5/3.20) (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 1003.20)
17 Sec. 3.20. "Landscape waste" means all accumulations of
18 grass or shrubbery cuttings, leaves, tree limbs, and other
19 materials accumulated as the result of the care of lawns,
20 shrubbery, vines, and trees. "Landscape waste" also includes
21 discarded, natural Christmas trees.

23 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
24 becoming law.
