1 AN ACT to amend the Public Utilities Act by changing
2 Section 13-404.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by
6 changing Section 13-404 as follows:
7 (220 ILCS 5/13-404) (from Ch. 111 2/3, par. 13-404)
8 (This Section is scheduled to be repealed July 1, 1999.)
9 Sec. 13-404. Resale of local exchange or interexchange
10 services. A Any telecommunications carrier offering or
11 providing the resale of either local exchange or
12 interexchange telecommunications service must first obtain a
13 Certificate of Service Authority. The Commission shall
14 approve an application for a Certificate for the resale of
15 local exchange or interexchange telecommunications service
16 upon a showing by the applicant, and a finding by the
17 Commission, after notice and hearing, that the applicant
18 possesses sufficient technical, financial, and managerial
19 resources and abilities to provide the resale of
20 telecommunications service.
