1 AN ACT to amend the Southwestern Illinois Development
2 Authority Act by changing Section 10.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Southwestern Illinois Development
6 Authority Act is amended by changing Section 10 as follows:
7 (70 ILCS 520/10) (from Ch. 85, par. 6160)
8 Sec. 10. The Authority may by ordinance designate a
9 portion of the territorial jurisdiction of the Authority for
10 certification as an Enterprise Zone under the Illinois
11 Enterprise Zone Act in addition to any other enterprise zones
12 which may be created under that Act, which area shall have
13 all the privileges and rights of an Enterprise Zone pursuant
14 to the Illinois Enterprise Zone Act, but which shall not be
15 counted in determining the number of Enterprise Zones to be
16 created in any year pursuant to that Act.
17 Prior to January 1, 1999, the Authority may by ordinance
18 designate a portion of the territorial jurisdiction of the
19 Authority located in the southeastern portion of Chouteau
20 Township and the southwestern portion of Edwardsville
21 Township along FAR 310 for certification as an Enterprise
22 Zone under the Illinois Enterprise Zone Act in addition to
23 any other enterprise zones which may be created under that
24 Act, which area shall have all the privileges and rights of
25 an Enterprise Zone under the Illinois Enterprise Zone Act,
26 but which shall not be counted in determining the number of
27 Enterprise Zones to be created in any year pursuant to that
28 Act.

30 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
