Appropriates $500,000 to the Department of Commerce and
Community Affairs for the Westside Small Business Development
Corporation. Effective July 1, 1997.

1 AN ACT making appropriations for the Westside Restoration
2 Initiative Area of the City of Chicago.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The sum of $500,000, or so much of that
6 amount as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General
7 Revenue Fund to the Department of Commerce and Community
8 Affairs for making a grant to the Westside Small Business
9 Development Corporation for all costs associated with a study
10 designed to explore the feasibility of developing cultural,
11 economic, and tourist attractions by developing, restoring,
12 rehabilitating, and operating the Sears, Roebuck and Company
13 Complex, the Garfield Park Conservatory, Guyon Apartments,
14 the National Guard Armory, and any other structure developed,
15 restored, rehabilitated, or operated by the Westside Small
16 Business Development Corporation as an historic site in the
17 Westside Restoration Initiative Area of the City of Chicago.
18 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July
19 1, 1997.
