LRB9000416REkb LRB9000416REkb 1 AN ACT concerning the standardization of time. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Time Standardization Act is amended by 5 changing Section 1 as follows: 6 (5 ILCS 440/1) (from Ch. 1, par. 3201) 7 Sec. 1. Time standardization.At two o'clock ante8meridian of the last Sunday in April of each year, the9standard time in this State shall be advanced one hour, and10at two o'clock ante meridian of the last Sunday in October of11each yearThe standard time in this State shall, by the12retarding of one hour, be made tocoincide with the mean 13 astronomical time of the ninety degrees of longitude West 14 from Greenwich, the standard official time of which is 15 described as United States standard central time., so that16between the last Sunday of April at two o'clock ante meridian17in each year and the last Sunday in October at two o'clock18ante meridian in each year the standard time in this state19shall be one hour in advance of the United States standard20central time: Provided, however, thatNothing in this Act 21 shall be so construed as to be in contravention of any 22 federal law or authorized order of the Interstate Commerce 23 Commission with respect to the time zones of the United 24 States.AndIn all laws, statutes, orders, judgments, rules, 25 and regulations relating to the time of performance of any 26 act of any officer or department of this State, or of any 27 county, township, city or town, municipal corporation, agency 28 or instrumentality of the State, or school district or school 29 authority or relating to the time in which any rights shall 30 accrue or determine, or within which any act shall or shall 31 not be performed by any person subject to the jurisdiction of -2- LRB9000416REkb 1 the State, and in all the public schools and in all 2 institutions of the State, or of any county, township, city 3 or town, municipal corporation, agency or instrumentality of 4 the State or school district or school authority, and in all 5 contracts or choses in action made or to be performed in the 6 State, it shall be understood and intended that the time 7 shall be the time prescribed in this Section. This Act 8 exempts the State of Illinois from the provisions of 9 subsection (a) of Section 260a of Title 15 of the United 10 States Code with respect to the advancement of time. 11 (Source: P.A. 84-452.) 12 Section 99.
