Provides that for every 10 advertisements the Department of the Lottery airs promoting the lottery, it shall air one public service announcement concerning treatment for problem or compulsive gambling. The Illinois Lottery Law is amended by 6 changing Section 7.8a as follows: 7 (20 ILCS 1605/7.8a) (from Ch. 120, par. 1157.8a) 8 Sec. 7.8a. Advertising. 9 (a) The Board shall establish advertising policy to 10 ensure that advertising content and practices do not target 11 with the intent to exploit specific groups or economic 12 classes of people, and that its content is accurate and not 13 misleading. The Board shall review, at least quarterly, all 14 past advertising and proposed concepts for major media 15 campaigns to ensure that they do not target with the intent 16 to exploit specific groups or economic classes of people, and 17 that their content is accurate and not misleading. If the 18 Board finds that advertising conflicts with such policy, it 19 shall have the authority to direct the Department to cease 20 that advertising. 21 (b) For every 10 advertisements the Department airs on 22 television or radio promoting the lottery, the Department 23 shall air one public service announcement in the same medium 24 concerning treatment for problem or compulsive gambling. 25 (Source: P.A. 85-183.) 26 Section 99.
