1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 693
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 693 on page 2, line
3 11, before "and", by inserting ", as soon as it completes its
4 work for a tax year,"; and
5 on page 2, by replacing lines 19 through 24 with the
6 following:
7 competence to hold the office. The Department shall conduct
8 examinations for various counties in a convenient location in
9 the region. A candidate appearing at the examination shall
10 indicate to the Department the name of the county the results
11 shall be certified to if he or she successfully passes the
12 examination. The Department shall certify the list to each
13 county from which candidates have appeared at the examination
14 location. Within one year after the effective date of this
15 amendatory Act of 1997, the Department shall conduct an
16 examination at least once in each commission county for which
17 the chairman of the County Board of Commissioners requests an
18 examination. The Department may provide by rule the maximum
19 time that the name of a person who has passed the examination
20 shall be included on a list of persons eligible to serve on
21 the board of review.".
