Replaces "used interchangeably" with "synonymous" in referring to certain defined terms. LRB9003298THcw LRB9003298THcw 1 AN ACT to amend the School Code by changing Section 2 34-1.1. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing 6 Section 34-1.1 as follows: 7 (105 ILCS 5/34-1.1) (from Ch. 122, par. 34-1.1) 8 Sec. 34-1.1. Definitions. As used in this Article: 9 "Academic Accountability Council" means the Chicago 10 Schools Academic Accountability Council created under Section 11 34-3.4. 12 "Local School Council" means a local school council 13 established under Section 34-2.1. 14 "School" and "attendance center" are synonymous andused15interchangeably tomean any attendance center operated 16 pursuant to this Article and under the direction of one 17 principal. 18 "Secondary Attendance Center" means a school which has 19 students enrolled in grades 9 through 12 (although it may 20 also have students enrolled in grades below grade 9). 21 "Local Attendance Area School" means a school which has a 22 local attendance area established by the board. 23 "Multi-area school" means a school other than a local 24 attendance area school. 25 "Parent" means a parent or legal guardian of an enrolled 26 student of an attendance center. 27 "Community resident" means a person, 18 years of age or 28 older, residing within an attendance area served by a school, 29 excluding any person who is a parent of a student enrolled in 30 that school; provided that with respect to any multi-area 31 school, community resident means any person, 18 years of age -2- LRB9003298THcw 1 or older, residing within the voting district established for 2 that school pursuant to Section 34-2.1c, excluding any person 3 who is a parent of a student enrolled in that school. 4 "School staff" means all certificated and uncertificated 5 school personnel, including all teaching and administrative 6 staff (other than the principal) and including all custodial, 7 food service and other civil service employees, who are 8 employed at and assigned to perform the majority of their 9 employment duties at one attendance center served by the same 10 local school council. 11 "Regular meetings" means the meeting dates established by 12 the local school council at its annual organizational 13 meeting. 14 (Source: P.A. 88-511; 89-15, eff. 5-30-95.)
