      720 ILCS 5/3-3            from Ch. 38, par. 3-3
          Amends the Criminal Code  of  1961.   Makes  a  technical
      change  in provisions regarding multiple prosecutions for the
      same act.

 1        AN ACT to amend the Criminal Code  of  1961  by  changing
 2    Section 32-5.
 3        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:
 5        Section 5.  The Criminal  Code  of  1961  is  amended  by
 6    changing Section 32-5 as follows:
 7        (720 ILCS 5/32-5) (from Ch. 38, par. 32-5)
 8        Sec.  32-5.  False  personation of attorney, judicial, or
 9    governmental officials.
10        (a)  A person who falsely represents himself  or  herself
11    to  be an attorney authorized to practice law for purposes of
12    compensation or consideration commits a Class 4 felony.  This
13    subsection (a) does not apply to a person who unintentionally
14    fails  to  pay  attorney  registration  fees  established  by
15    Supreme Court Rule.
16        (b)  A person who falsely represents himself  or  herself
17    to  be  an  attorney  authorized  to practice law or a public
18    officer or a public employee commits a Class B misdemeanor.
