1 AN ACT to amend the Election Code by changing Section
2 9-8.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Election Code is amended by changing
6 Section 9-8 as follows:
7 (10 ILCS 5/9-8) (from Ch. 46, par. 9-8)
8 Sec. 9-8. Solicitation; expenditures; without the
9 candidate's authority. Any political committee which solicits
10 or receives contributions or makes expenditures on behalf of
11 any candidate that is not authorized in writing by such
12 candidate to do so shall include a notice on the face or
13 front page of all literature and advertisements published and
14 following all commercials broadcast, in connection with the
15 such candidate's campaign by the such committee or on its
16 behalf stating that the committee is not authorized by the
17 such candidate and that the such candidate is not responsible
18 for the activities of the such committee.
