1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Vehicle Code by changing
2 Section 3-617.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by
6 changing Section 3-617 as follows:
7 (625 ILCS 5/3-617) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 3-617)
8 Sec. 3-617. Driver education plates. A High School
9 operating passenger cars for a high school driver training
10 program, may operate or move the same upon the highway
11 without registering each such passenger car upon the
12 condition that each such passenger car display thereon, in
13 the manner prescribed by Section 3-413, special plates issued
14 to the high school under the provisions of Section 3-808.
15 Such special plates may be issued only to a public high
16 school or a high school operated by a religious institution,
17 and may be used only on passenger cars used exclusively in
18 high school driver training program approved by the State
19 Board of Education.
