1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1061
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 1061, AS AMENDED,
3 with reference to the page and line numbers of House
4 Amendment No. 4, on page 1, line 12, by inserting after the
5 period the following:
6 "Nothing in this Act is intended to preempt home rule or
7 otherwise preempt home rule regulation of firearms."; and
8 on page 11, line 12, by inserting after "State" the
9 following:
10 ", but no person may carry a concealed firearm or otherwise
11 possess a handgun within the territory of a home rule unit of
12 government if an ordinance or resolution of the home rule
13 unit of government prohibits such activity within the
14 territory of the home rule unit of government"; and
15 on page 14, by inserting between lines 14 and 15 the
16 following:
17 "Section 76. Home rule not preempted. Nothing in this
18 Act shall be construed to preempt home rule.".
