90_HB1202ham001 LRB9004238THpkam 1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1202 2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 1202 on page 1, by 3 replacing lines 9 through 17 with the following: 4 "A Standing Task Force on Harassment Suppression shall be 5 created as provided in this Section. The Task Force shall be 6 composed of 13 members, 3 of whom shall be appointed by the 7 Governor, 2 by the Mayor, 2 by the board of education, and 6 8 by registered education reform groups, each to serve for a 9 minimum term of 2 years, or for a longer term at the pleasure 10 of the appointing authority. The Task Force shall be 11 composed of community representatives, representatives of the 12 business and professional community, local school council 13 members, school officials, and representatives from civic and 14 religious organizations; provided, that of the 6 members 15 appointed by registered education reform groups, 2 shall be 16 parent members of local school councils, 2 shall be community 17 resident members of local school councils, and 2 shall be 18 teacher members of local school councils. The Task Force 19 shall be responsible"; and 20 on page 2, line 7, by inserting after the underscored period 21 the following: 22 "If the general superintendent of schools determines that 23 written charges and specifications should not be filed under -2- LRB9004238THpkam 1 Section 34-85, the general superintendent of schools shall 2 provide written reasons for that determination to both the 3 Task Force and the board of education."; and 4 by replacing lines 16 through 20 with the following: 5 "or a majority of the members of the Task Force.".
