      605 ILCS 5/6-131 new
          Amends the Illinois Highway Code to allow a road district
      to use money in its district road fund to pay for  the  costs
      of senior citizen transportation and mass transit programs.

 1        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  Illinois  Highway Code by adding
 2    Section 6-131.
 3        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:
 5        Section  5.  The  Illinois  Highway  Code  is  amended by
 6    adding Section 6-131 as follows:
 7        (605 ILCS 5/6-131 new)
 8        Sec.  6-131.  Senior  citizen  transportation  and   mass
 9    transit  programs;  district  road fund.  A road district may
10    use money in its district road fund to pay  for  all  of  the
11    direct  costs  of  senior  citizen transportation programs or
12    senior citizen mass transit programs, or both.
