          Amends the Abandoned Housing Rehabilitation Act.  Deletes
      provision that in order for an organization to  petition  for
      temporary  possession  of  property  it  has to have been tax
      delinquent for the proceeding 2 years.

 1        AN ACT to amend the Abandoned Housing Rehabilitation  Act
 2    by changing Section 3.
 3        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:
 5        Section 5.  The Abandoned Housing Rehabilitation  Act  is
 6    amended by changing Section 3 as follows:
 7        (310 ILCS 50/3) (from Ch. 67 1/2, par. 853)
 8        Sec.  3.   An  organization  may  petition  for temporary
 9    possession of property if:
10        (a)  the  property  has  been  tax  delinquent  for   the
11    proceeding  2  years  and has been continuously unoccupied by
12    persons legally in possession for the preceding year;
13        (b)  the property is a nuisance;
14        (c)  the  organization  intends   to   rehabilitate   the
15    property and use the property as housing for low and moderate
16    income persons and families; and
17        (d)  the  organization  has sent notice to the parties in
18    interest of the property, by certified  or  registered  mail,
19    mailed to their last known address and posted on the property
20    at  least  30  days but not more than 60 days before the date
21    the petition is filed, of the organization's intent to file a
22    petition for possession under this Act.
