1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1410
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 1410 on page 1, by
3 replacing lines 7 and 8 with the following:
4 "(215 ILCS 5/155.31 new)
5 Sec. 155.31. Structured settlements.
6 (a) No insurance company may make payments on a
7 structured settlement of a claim for personal injury to
8 anyone other than the beneficiary of the settlement without
9 prior approval of the circuit court of the county where an
10 action was or could have been maintained.
11 (b) No person who is the beneficiary of a structured
12 settlement of a claim for personal injury may assign in any
13 manner the payments of the settlement without prior approval
14 of the circuit court of the county where an action was or
15 could have been maintained.".
