 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1485
 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 1485,  by  changing
 3    the title to read as follows:
 4        "AN ACT in regard to universities"; and
 5        by  replacing  everything  after the enacting clause with
 6    the following:
 7        "Section 10.  The University of Illinois  at  Springfield
 8    Law is amended by changing Section 40-15 as follows:
 9        (110 ILCS 327/40-15)
10        Sec.  40-15.  Transfer of employees and students.  On the
11    effective  date  of  this  Article,  the  employment  of  all
12    academic  and  nonacademic  personnel   of   Sangamon   State
13    University  (now  known  as  the  University  of  Illinois at
14    Springfield) is hereby transferred from the Board of  Regents
15    to  the  Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, but
16    the locus of their employment shall not be transferred.   The
17    transfer shall not affect the status and rights of any person
18    under  the  State Universities Retirement System or the State
19    Universities Civil Service System.  On the effective date  of
20    this   Article,   the  individuals  whose  employment  is  so
21    transferred shall be credited with earned vacation  days  and

 1    sick leave days accrued before the transfer.
 2        On  the  effective  date of this Article, individuals who
 3    are students of Sangamon State University shall  be  students
 4    of  the  University  of Illinois at Springfield.  All degrees
 5    from Sangamon State University  shall  be  degrees  from  the
 6    University  of Illinois at Springfield.  Any reasonable costs
 7    associated with the reissuance of diplomas shall be borne  by
 8    the individuals requesting the diplomas.

11        Section 99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect  upon
12    becoming law.".
